The Racine Miss Latina Scholarship organization was founded in 1998. Originally named Miss Latina Scholarship Inc. it was established by a group of Latina women who came together to give support to Latina students in Racine. Their vision was to encourage them to graduate from high school and continue to pursue higher education. Their support included creating this scholarship organization to award money that helps pay for continuing education. 

In 2019 when the organization reformed as Racine Miss Latina Scholarship, the organization increased its focus on leadership and community engagement opportunities. In addition to receiving a scholarship, Miss Latina is a leader and role model inspiring the next generation of Latinas. When young Latina girls see her in the community, they see their own potential to become leaders which is a powerful catalyst for their future success.

The mission of Racine Miss Latina Scholarship is to provide financial, leadership, and community opportunities that encourage Latina students to graduate from high school and pursue higher education degrees.

• Community: Partner and collaborate within Racine to nurture confidence in growing leadership skills as well as increase exposure as a role-model to young Latinas
